Our Story

Cavi was born in the Netherlands, started by two school friends who shared the same frustration: every summer we bought new sunglasses, and every summer they broke or felt cheap. The market was full of plastic frames that didn’t last and lacked any real character. We knew it could be better—and that’s where the idea for Cavi was born.

Instead of going with the flow of disposable eyewear, we turned to acetate. It’s stronger, more comfortable, and has a richness of color and feel that plastic can’t compete with. The catch? Acetate was mostly used in expensive designer brands. We wanted to change that—to make this premium material accessible to everyone, without the heavy price tag.
